West Ham signs removed from OS
Because of an Atheltics world cup in August.

What a fucking farce

Couldn't give a shit whether people disagree or not.
The stadium is a joke and decent owners who understand football would never have forced this move on fans.

Re:
As I posted on the Fixtures thread:

There has never been an agreement with any party that we don't play at home on Boxing Day.

I'm sure that Westfield would prefer we didn't play Tottenham etc, but there's never been an agreement saying we won't be at home. It's just coincidence.

Re: West Ham signs removed from OS
One of the blokes that works for the company that do the fixture lists said that most PL sides request duller fixtures for boxing day and new years as it will likely be a sell out anyway, so they will rarely ever play a big club or rival.

We have Bournemouth and West Brom this season. Of which our New years fixture is at home, so Westfield can't be that bothered, considering the January sales rush.

As for the owners being only in it for the money, they have to make us a success to do so selling us on as they don't draw a wage, so good luck to them.

The Boxing Day thing is bollocks from this coming season btw, it's what the fixture computer throws up from now on.

Not that it will stop 13BR from crying

Totally agree with 13. They are not west ham, they are only in there for the money

If this really bothers you it says more about what a fantastic, problem free life you must live to even think about this as an issue..

Re: West Ham signs removed from OS
Just because they don't want to own the stadium due to having a great deal, it doesn't necessarily follow that they don't have gripes about all of those things. Flawed logic.

Re: West Ham signs removed from OS
Apparently the club have no interest in owning the stadium even if it was given away as the deal we have is "better than owning the freehold"
Can you imagine any other proper club with decent owners settling for the huge gaps around the pitch and between tiers with temporary seats on breeze blocks, not being allowed to play there boxing day and having to play away first 3 games of a season?

Went to see Guns n Roses at the OS last night. Was pretty surprised to see plenty of West Ham signs, etc both inside and outside the ground. Presumably Axl had thrown a huge a strop and insisted that it all got put back up.

Just back from Rome.

Gutted that the the Colosseum sign had been removed before I got there and it could have been any old building. Now how do I know that anything historical even happened there?

Its a diabolical liberty. My questions are how long do I boycott it for, who do I write to to complain and what knickers shall I wear to piss in to?

Why removing it?
Why not cover it up?
Its no fun visiting the stadium off-season if it isnt any WHU branding

Can't complain though, it's all about the next level.

Seeing Snodgrass in a West Ham shirt makes it all worthwhile.

Re: West Ham signs removed from OS
In the scheme of things I suppose it doesn't really matter if they take the signs down for a bit, and yes we knew there would be no home games at the start of the season - but it just goes to remind us and everyone else that we don't have a home of our own, just one that we're allowed to use a certain number of times a year.
